Rob, Josh, and TJ are the best. Not only helping moving, disassembling and reassmbling, guidance, and decoration suggestions. Highly professional, enjoyable to work with, and an all around fantastic experience. Thank you, Triangle Movers!

Triangle movers are reasonably priced and super responsible. I’ve done three “moves” with them. First they packed up two rooms for me as my home was renovated. All stemware was in tiptop shape when unpacked. Second move was putting a piano and keepsakes in storage as I closed up my parents’ home. TJ and Josh even dropped stuff off at Good Will for free. They came today and returned everything safely home.

Things to Know When Decluttering in Dutchess County

Many people struggle to decide how to declutter their homes and which items to get rid of. Here are some tips for decluttering your household before a move.

Use the 20/20 rule: “If you can replace it in under 20 minutes for under $20, it’s usually safe to let go,“ says Modern Minimalism author, Elle Penner.

The 90/90 Rule: If you haven’t used an item in the last 90 days or won’t use it in the next 90 days, it’s probably best to get rid of it.

Digitize and Ditch Paper Clutter: Receipts, documents, and user manuals are some paper items that take up a lot of space. “Digitizing helps cut down on clutter and gives you quick access to important records,” says blogger Lady Marielle

Scan for Dust: If you have belongings that are collecting dust, there’s probably a reason why. As becomingminimalist.com author Joshua Becker writes, “Dust is your friend when you’re looking to own less and lighten your load going forward.”

Get help from friends and family: People outside the household are more likely to remind residents of things they might otherwise overlook. Joshua Becker points out that friends and family are “asking the questions we need to be asking ourselves.” This allows people decluttering to make informed decisions and get rid of things they don’t really need.
